Trauma is a fact of life. It does not, however, have to be a life sentence.

Healing is possible. It is hard. And it can be weird. Any change can have ripple effects across all areas of life. The changes that come from coping with high levels of stress and/or trauma can impact you and all of the relationships in your life.

My approach with anyone who comes to see me is to understand the struggle that you are facing and work with you to find your strengths and address any underlying causes of your distress.

Life can get pretty hard, seemingly pretty fast and sometimes that can leave you feeling like things came “out of nowhere” and make it hard to sleep or focus. Initially, I will provide information and explanations to increase your understanding of what is happening in your brain and body, and then support you as you develop strategies to increase your ability to be fully present in your life.

Together we will work to find the most effective way to address the concerns you have and identify how your relationships and overall life satisfaction have been impacted by the stress and trauma you have experienced. Once we have created a stable base for you to work from, we can then reach into the painful darkness to bring light and healing to the deeply painful aspects of your trauma experience. Having those effective coping strategies in place is what will give you the support you need in the healing process.

I am a Clinical Performance Psychologist, which is to say that I have an extensive background working with people of all ages as a psychologist, instructor, coach and mentor. As a clinician, I use my knowledge of mental and physical functioning to develop specific and effective strategies that can have a significant impact on the quality of life and set you up for healing. As often as I can I use experiential learning to bring to life concepts and practices that are discussed in session.

I earned my doctorate in Clinical Psychology  from Biola University, a M.S. in Kinesiology, with an emphasis in Sport Psychology from Georgia Southern University, and a B.S. in Physical Education from Florida International University.
